What are the benefits of Community Supported Agriculture?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) creates a responsible relationship between people and the food they eat, the farm on which it is grown, and those who grow it. By supporting one another and sharing any risk, local farmers and community members mutually create an economically stable farm in which members are assured high quality, fresh produce and farmers are guaranteed a fair return on a variety of crops, helping to support biodiversity. The CSA strengthens the local economy and food supply, maintains a connected community, encourages land stewardship and helps small farmers maintain a consistent market throughout the growing season.
